Anthony Hunt

Station Manager

Anthony Hunt has over 30 years experience at radio stations in Idaho, Kansas, Minnesota, Maryland, and Indiana. From announcer to development director to station manager, Anthony has helped build audience, membership, & underwriting in every market.

Though he started as a newscaster and DJ in commercial radio, in college, Anthony moved to public broadcasting because he preferred classical, jazz, and coffeehouse music offered there. He learned that public radio stations in the NPR network presented the most credible, honest and accurate analysis of world events for the constantly curious. This has given him his life’s passion—to get more people to listen, enjoy, and support this publicly funded news and entertainment service. He loves public radio’s respect for the listener’s intelligence and its ability to feed both sides of the brain: left & right—art & science.

Anthony grew up in a musical household. His father directed high school bands for many years. His mother has taught piano and been a church organist for over 60 years. Anthony had a small solo in La Boheme at age 11, performed in several Gilbert and Sullivan musicals in high school, played “Snoopy” in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, and been both the dentist and the voice of the plant in "Little Shop of Horrors."

While working at Radio Kansas, Anthony met his wife, Carolyn, in Hutchinson, Kansas during rehearsals of the Reno Choral Society. They are raising their 4 boys: Zachariah (20), Killian (17), Silas (15), and Ren (12) in Elkhart, Indiana. Besides playing or reading with his boys, Anthony enjoys reading, cooking, gardening, biking, & swimming.

He has served on the Governor's Lead Safe-Housing Advisory Council as a parent of children with lead poisoning as well as the boards of Bike Elkhart, Elkhart County Symphony, Heart City Health Center, and the IUSB Center for a Sustainable Future.
